This workshop, entitled “G2P by organoids Workshop”, will bring together scientific specialists from the European EuroFAANG network. The theme will focus on the potential of cell systems and genome editing in farmed species to validate hypotheses and explore new ones, while respecting the ethical principles of the 3Rs.

Sessions in the provisional program :

  • The EuroFAANG RI project and aims of the workshop
  • Biobanking and in vitro genome editing (theory, research examples and practice)
  • Genome editing (theory, research examples and practice)
  • Metadata and standards for G2P research (theory, research examples and practice)
  • G2P in organoids (theory, research examples and practice
  • Analysis of single cell data (theory, research examples and practice)
  • In vitro vs. in vivo G2P research and the links to industry
  • G2P in organoids - 2 (theory, research examples and practice)
  • Wrapping up: outcomes of the workshop and future perspectives

This modular workshop is aimed at post-graduate students, PhD students, post-docs and experienced researchers from universities and private institutions in the field of biobanking and animal husbandry.

  • You are interested in domesticated animal species and are sensitive to the 3R principle (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) concerning the use of live animals.
  • You are trying to decipher the molecular basis (G) of the phenotype(s) (P) you are studying as part of your research project.
  • Use (or want to learn more about) available in vitro cell systems (e.g. cell lines, organoids...) and CRISPR genome editing techniques.
  • Wish to be part of a large community with the opportunity to discuss the latest advances and perspectives.

To participate !

The modular, hybrid format allows you to attend part of the hands-on training, as well as all the lectures. Attendance is recommended for laboratory sessions and round-table discussions..

Location : INRAE, Jouy-en-Josas, Île-de-France, France 

Registration deadlines : 

- October 18, 2024 for in-person participation 
- January 31, 2025 for online participation only

Participation is free of charge (travel and accommodation expenses are your responsibility), but registration is compulsory for both in-person and online participants.
