Microorganism pillar

The Microorganism pillar of RARe is made up of three components: CIRM (Centre International de Ressources Microbiennes), the SAMBO biobank at Metagenopolis (MGP) and FAN Collection culture (UBOCC).
CIRM

CIRM is a Groupement d'Intérêt Scientifique (GIS) created in 2004 by INRAE, which networks 5 certified microbiological resource centers (CRB) (bacteria, yeasts and filamentous fungi). Its partners are higher education establishments: Institut Agro and the universities of Montpellier, Aix-Marseille, Angers and Tours.

These CRBs conserve over 22,000 strains of plant-associated bacteria, pathogenic bacteria, bacteria of food interest, yeasts and filamentous fungi. CIRM's mission is to manage, characterize and promote these microbial collections, and to make them accessible to the scientific community and to the industries concerned.

CRB members of the microorganism pillar

CIRM-BIA : Bacteria of food interest

CIRM-BP : Animal and human pathogenic bacteria

CIRM-CF : Filamentous fungi of agro-industrial interest

CIRM-CFBP : Plant-associated bacteria

CIRM-Levures : Yeasts of technological interest

CRB FAN (Fungi, Agri-food, eNvironment) of the UBOCC unit: The CRB FAN preserves and distributes yeasts and molds from a variety of environments (processed and unprocessed food products, fields, marine environment, etc.).

CRB SAMBO : SAMBO is the biobank of MGP, an INRAE research unit dedicated to research into human and animal microbiota. SAMBO offers large-scale solutions for the collection, storage and management of samples (faeces and DNA), with a storage capacity of 600,000 samples.
