GGBN

3rd International Conference of the Global Genome Biodiversity Network (GGBN)

Around the main theme of the "International Day for Biological Diversity" proclaimed by the United Nations, the sessions will cover agricultural, forest and environmental biodiversity and its characterization by state-of-the-art genomic, phenomenal and molecular tools.

Created in October 2011, the Global Genome Biodiversity Network (GGBN) is an international network of 68 institutions that share a common interest in the long-term preservation of genomic samples representing the diversity of non-human life on Earth.
For its third international conference "GGBN 2018" to be held in Vienna from May 22-25, the GGBN and its accompanying institutions will focus on topics related to exploring the wealth of diversity that is currently stored in biodiversity biobanks around the world.
The GGBN also provides a platform for collection repositories, standards for genomic samples, improving best practices for the preservation and use of these collections, and harmonizing the exchange of materials in accordance with national and international legislation and conventions.
