The environment pillar contributes to the construction of the European AnaEE infrastructure

The AnaEE-France Infrastructure (Analysis and Experiments on Ecosystems) offers the scientific community, companies and civil society organizations complete access to the study of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems through its experimental platforms distributed throughout France and the French overseas territories.

It also supports projects by offering analyses on its analytical platforms and modeling pipelines. The infrastructure includes the SOERE ACBB network (long-term evolution of the soil-vegetation system, over 20 years, in order to quantify the C sequestration capacity in soils) and SOERE PRO (effects of recycling organic waste products (PRO) on cultivated ecosystems).

European integration

The AnaEE-France infrastructure is the French node of the ERIC AnaEE project, of which it is a founding member and current project coordinator. AnaEE is a pan-European, integrated, long-term, continent-wide experimental research infrastructure based on advanced distributed platforms of four types:

  • Open-air ecosystem platforms: located in managed and unmanaged terrestrial or aquatic ecosystems across Europe's climate zones;
  • Closed Ecosystem Platforms: complement the open-air platforms by allowing a higher level of environmental monitoring and process measurement;
  • Analytical platforms: provide advanced biological, physical and chemical analyses for a better understanding of ecosystem processes;
  • Modeling platforms: provide access to advanced software solutions and facilities for model development.
