BiodivERsA is the European network of agencies and ministries that program and fund research on biodiversity, ecosystem services and nature-based solutions in Europe. Created in 2005, it now includes 39 ministries, agencies and foundations from 25 countries.

BiodivERsA's activities range from mapping the research landscape to programming and funding research on its themes. Their main objectives are to:

  •  strengthen the existing links between the research community, research programmers and funders, and the European Commission; and develop a common European strategy for research on biodiversity, ecosystem services and nature-based solutions,
  •  Involve stakeholders throughout the research process,
  •  mediate knowledge, tools and solutions to better manage, conserve and protect biodiversity.

The Foundation for Biodiversity Research is the coordinator and secretariat of BiodivERsA, a European H2020 project (agreement N°642420).
