Scientific Seminar 2024 “One Health

24 September 2024

IBIS Style Paris-Bercy & webinaire

The seminar aims to illustrate the complex relationships that exist between the biotic and abiotic components of ecosystems, and to show the advantage of having an infrastructure such as RARe to stimulate new projects that enhance the diversity of its collections.

Scientific Seminar 2024 “One Health

Biological resources and the “One Health” concept

September 24-25, 2024

https://www.agrobrc-rare.org/agenda/seminaire-scientifique-2024-one-health

Biological resources are essential for sustainable development and human, animal and environmental health.

The “One Health” concept recognizes that the health of human beings is linked to that of animals and the environment, and that infectious diseases can be transmitted between these different areas. Biological resources thus play a key role in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of emerging diseases, which represent a major threat to global health security.

The seminar program has been designed to address the various dimensions of 'One Health', with examples taken from all the fields covered by RARe. It is aimed at the French scientific community, researchers and teachers, socio-economic partners, research infrastructures, multidisciplinary program leaders and decision-makers.

Topics :

1- Evolutionary ecology and prevention of zoonoses
2- Ecosystem and population health
3- Genetic diversity and host-pathogen interactions
4- Relationships between production and contamination
5- Living libraries and their complementarity with diversity in the field
6- Restoring degraded ecosystems on a landscape scale
